Damage and Knockback
All Abilities in Omega Strikers can deal Damage and Knockback to enemy Strikers or the Core, and can be increased or reduced by various means. A large host of effects will impact the power of a Striker's abilities and may may increase or reduce their effectiveness when combined.
Types of Damage and Knockback
All abilities come with 3 different parts:
- Core Knockback
- PvP Knockback
- PvP Damage
These parts all have individual Base Values and Scalings, which may differ from one another significantly. PvP values are inflicted against Strikers while Core values determine how quickly the Core travels when being hit. Certain effects may specify different values for hitting Strikers or the Core.
Damage application
When an ability collides with a target, it inflicts Damage and Knockback based on these factors, in order:
- Base Values
- Power
Scaling
- Percent Bonuses
- Special Conditions
Base Values
All abilities come with Base Values that act as a baseline for how hard the ability hits. These can be seen in the ability's description as a flat amount. Base Values always remain unchanged no matter what kinds of effects are applied.
Power Scaling
All abilities come with Power values denoted by the symbol. These values are a percentage of the Power statistic of your Striker, and are added to the base value. All Strikers start with varying amounts of
and can gain or lose it over the course of the match.
- As an example, Dubu's Rollout scales with 85%
against Strikers. At the base value of 100
he starts with, it becomes an additional 85 Damage and Knockback added to the Base Value.
Percent Bonuses
Awakenings, Gear, and even some Abilities can affect the amount of damage dealt to targets by a percentage. These effects are Additive, meaning they add up to become a total % bonus before application. Any effect that states it causes you to "Hit __% harder" means it increases both Knockback and Damage.
- When dealing with multiple bonuses, add up the percentages before applying them. If you have both Heavy Impact and Missile Propulsion, each individual 20% bonus gets combined to make your total Percent Bonus equal to 40%.
Special Conditions
Some conditions affecting the target can change the final value that you deal to it. Conditions are effects sourced from the target, rather than the attacker. These may increase or decrease values dramatically, as they are applied after everything else has been calculated.
- Being Staggered causes Strikers to take 254.5% increased Knockback, making them fly significantly further than usual.
Finii's Triple Take causes Strikers to take 20% increased Damage.
Asher's Breakthrough reduces Damage and Knockback by 25% and 30%, respectively.
Vyce's Super Nova reduces Knockback by 100%.
- Powerhouse Pauldrons reduces Damage by 20% while active.
- Unstoppable reduces Damage and Knockback by 100% while active.
Calculating Damage and Knockback
In order to find the final amount applied by an ability to a target, apply the following steps:
- Begin with the Base Value.
- Add value from Power
scaling.
- Add up all % Bonuses, then apply them.
- Apply any Special conditions' values.
Once everything has been calculated, the final total value is applied to the target. In the case of Strikers, they receive both Damage and Knockback, while the Core only receives Knockback.
