Lore
The speed and precision of Octavia's play is enough to leave all but the sharpest of opponents left in the dust. The pulsing sonic waves she emits from her amplifiers can blast opponents, or the core, with tremendous force, but her fragility often makes her the target of attacks from the enemy team - if they can manage to catch her.
Octavia was born just minutes before her twin sister, Vyce, but was always seen as the "older" sister. She was precocious and quickly gained the favor of adults, including her parents at home and teachers at school. While her sister was the polar opposite, Octavia remained inseparable from Vyce and would often cover for the trouble Vyce would get into. The duo dreamed of one day creating music together, becoming rockstars, and touring the world. They also made an excellent Corestrike team, each covering each other's weaknesses.
The two sisters were naturally skilled musicians and, recognizing their daughters' talents, Octavia's parent put her and Vyce into a music conservatory in their early teenage years. The conservatory opened Octavia's eyes to new styles of music and showed her just how much she had left to learn. While she remained a star pupil, she found that she was never satisfied with her compositions and was left chasing after an elusive, and idiosyncratic, musical perfection. This focus began to distance her from Vyce as she found her tastes skewing towards precise, electronic, genres that contrasted with her sister's raw love of rock. When Vyce would get into trouble for disregarding her teacher's instructions and doing things her own way, Octavia became embarrassed and no longer covered for her sister.
The two graduated from the academy and went their separate ways. Octavia became the rising star of a burgeoning genre that was quickly becoming popular in Ahten. Even with this level of success, Octavia felt like her search for musical perfection had begun to stall, as none of the tracks she created satisfied her. She would spend hours upon hours in the studio, attempting to craft the song that would finally satisfy her.
A few years after graduating from the musical academy, Octavia was booked to headline Ahten's biggest music festival, where her sister Vyce would be playing as an opener on a side stage. Octavia watched her sister's set, then approached her with congratulations backstage. Vyce rebuffed Octavia's praise as hollow, claiming that her sister had abandoned her and abandoned their dreams. The two argued and, in a fit of emotion, Vyce stormed out.
Octavia could finally feel the pain she had caused her sister and tried to reach back out to make amends. She offered that the two could return to one of their childhood passions and play Corestrike together as a way to heal their relationship's wounds. Vyce initally rejected the offer, but after repeated prodding from Octavia reluctantly agreed. The two now step into the Pro League together - but will Octavia be able to set aside her personal search for perfection and rebuild her relationship with Vyce?
