Slashing Strike MELEE Melee

Evade When not fully charged, spend Energy to briefly become ELUSIVE, avoiding all incoming damage and knockbacks. Casting an ability ends this effect early. Gains additional effects if cast with 100% Energy. Cooldown 3s Ability Details Requires and uses 25 Energy (1 bar). Elusive duration: 1.5s. Using any ability cancels the effect early. Automatically uses Energy Burst instead when used with 75 Energy (3 bars).
Energy Burst Spend all of your Energy to EVADE and unleash an additional burst of power. This knocks back and stuns enemies momentarily, briefly grants you exclusive control of the Core, and dramatically increases the power of your next hit against it. Cooldown 3s Player Knockback 200 + 100% Damage 200 + 100% Ability Details Requires and uses 75 Energy (3 bars). Elusive duration: 1.5s. Using any ability cancels the effect early. Hitting the Core while it is under your exclusive control increases the Core Knockback of the hit by 50%, as well as the Knockback cap. Grants energy on a hit, which is given after the 75 is spent to use the ability. Size does not increase radius. Only affected by Power and generic damage %.

Despite his small stature, Zentaro is a feared opponent on the Corestrike fields. His mastery of swordcraft is second to none and the blazing speed of his attacks is sure to keep even the most well-composed foes on their toes.
Zentaro comes from an isolated island, tucked away from the urban bustle of Ahten. On this island humans and oni have traditionally been enemies and even to this day are fearful of each other. They built their villages high atop the island's mountains, separated from one another by a deep valley and roaring river. This creates a natural barrier that reinforces their fears--no human enters the oni village and no oni enters the human village. This placed Zentaro , a half-oni, in a precarious position. As a baby, he was left at the banks of the river that cuts through the valley between the human and oni villages.
An elderly human couple, never able to have a child of their own, heard the baby's cries in the dead of night and took him into their home. They realized that life on the island would be hard for a half-oni, but resolved to raise the baby as their own and some day help him escape the island's backwards ways. They named him "Zentaro " and would cover his small horns with wrappings whenever they went to market in the human village. Zentaro' s father was a skilled swordsman and happily trained his son in the ways of the blade.
One day, a merchant traveling from the human village passed by the small hamlet where Zentaro and his parents lived and spied Zentaro training with his father. In the comfort of his own home, Zentaro had neglected to wrap his horns and the merchant was left shocked and frightened. He hurriedly returned to the human village and warned them of Zentaro 's true nature. With distrust in their hearts, the villagers shunned Zentaro and his parents disallowed them from entering into the village's borders.
Zentaro viewed himself as the problem, and with a deep love for his parents in his heart, decided to flee the island. He wrote his parents a note, thanking them for all their kindness and hoping that by removing the trouble he caused, the would live happier lives. In the dead of night he left the note by their bed and ran away from home.
His journey was a long one, but he eventually found his way to Ahten. He was mystified by the fact that in this big city humans and oni lived together in harmony. There was no hate, fear, or mistrust between them. Zentaro resolved that he'd find a way to get his elderly parents to Ahten, but first he need to earn enough money to buy a place for them to stay and to fund their long journey. He met Ai.Mi and the two made an instant, albeit unlikely, friendship. She convinced Zentaro to use his talents with his sword playing Corestrike with her, and that the two would earn fame and fortune by doing so.
Zentaro is happy to have found a city that accepts him and a friend who will stand by him. Now he just need to complete his mission and bring his parents to Ahten.
