Rune

Rune is a tricky caster who can teleport and banish enemies to another realm.

Abilities

Strike

	MELEE Melee A type of hit that scales with the striker's size. Strikes, dashes and most short-ranged abilities are considered MELEE hits
	Knock the Core in a direction with a LIGHT MELEE hit.

Lingers for ~0.15s.

Evade

	When not fully charged, spend Energy to briefly become ELUSIVE, avoiding all incoming damage and knockbacks. Casting an ability ends this effect early. Gains additional effects if cast with 100% Energy.

Ability Details
Requires and uses 25 Energy (1 bar). Elusive duration: 1.5s. Using any ability cancels the effect early. Automatically uses Energy Burst instead when used with 75 Energy (3 bars).

Energy Burst

	Spend all of your Energy to EVADE and unleash an additional burst of power. This knocks back and stuns enemies momentarily, briefly grants you exclusive control of the Core, and dramatically increases the power of your next hit against it.

Ability Details
Requires and uses 75 Energy (3 bars). Elusive duration: 1.5s. Using any ability cancels the effect early. Hitting the Core while it is under your exclusive control increases the Core Knockback of the hit by 50%, as well as the Knockback cap. Grants energy on a hit, which is given after the 75 is spent to use the ability. Size does not increase radius. Only affected by Power and generic damage %.

	On round start, place your shadow at your location. On cast, become Elusive and quickly travel to your shadow's location, swapping places with it and leaving an Unstable Anomaly from where you departed.

Ability Details
Creates an Unstable Anomaly, which acts the exact same as Primary but has the Secondary tag instead (and is affected by Super Surge). Shadow Swap's cooldown is reset at the start of every round. Dash bonuses increase the speed of the swap. BUG: With at least 190% dash speed, rune can KO himself by activating shadow swap when his destination is near the goal’s edge.

Banish

	PROJECTILE Projectile a type of Striker ability that launches a ranged object into the game world DEBUFF Debuff a negative effect a Striker can apply to enemy players or the Core. Debuffs usually have a duration
	Launch a shadow wave that banishes, slows, and damages enemies for 1.75s. Banished enemies cannot be targeted or interacted with.

The DoT lasts for 2s, slightly longer than the Banish. Ticks every 0.25s. Deals a tick on application. Unaffected by projectile damage. BUG: Incorrectly gaining 50% (instead of 40%) from the "Specialized Training" Awakening(a pre-nerfed value of the training).

Lore

Rune surges with the energy of another realm. The power of Obscura that flows through him gives him the ability to warp the flow of the match in his favor—teleporting across the map and banishing his opponents from the field.

Rune had a normal childhood with a loving family and good friends. He was well-liked by his peers and was top of the class in his studies. A successful future was laid out before him. But that future felt dry, boring, and tedious to Rune. He desired something more exciting than the average life and began researching dark magicks with his best friend. After school, they would secretly study ancient texts and experiment with forbidden rituals. This exploration into the unknown exhilarated Rune, and he always wanted to push one layer deeper.

That curiosity got the better of him. While performing a ritual from one of the texts, Rune summoned a primeval power from a realm known as Obscura. The dark energy surged forth wildly, grabbing his friend and engulfing him in shadow. Rune frantically tried to seal the power, but found himself helpless to stop it. Within a few moments the shadow had vanished, but so too had his friend.

Rune wept in despair, but as he did his friend’s voice called out to him from Obscura. It echoed in his head, laying out the terms of a sinister bargain. If Rune would accept and become imbued with dark powers, using them as the voice requested, his friend would be returned to the human world. But in so doing, Rune would gradually lose himself to the essence of Obscura. Out of guilt and fear, Rune agreed.

The voice of Obscura requests many things. Recently, it drove Rune towards the Pro League. Obscura directs Rune towards the championship for reasons he cannot understand. But Rune doesn’t care for reason—if it will bring his friend back, it simply must be done.
